At Cornerstone Psychology, our psychometrist is highly trained with a Master's degree in Psychology and clinical experience administering psychological and neuropsychological tests.

How do I introduce your services to my child?
First, we suggest picking a calm time for a discussion and giving some advanced warning, so that your child has an opportunity to think and ask questions.
Second, keep it simple. Provide the clinician’s name and a basic description of the service. For example:
If seeking psychotherapy: “We’re going to meet with Cassandra. Her job is to talk with kids and their families to help them figure out their thoughts and feelings and make things better. You’ll be talking with her and maybe drawing or playing too.”
If seeking an assessment: “We’re going to be meeting with Michael. His job is to figure out how kids think and learn and how the grownups in their life can better help them. You’ll be answering some questions, solving puzzles, and playing games. Some things you might find easy and some might be a little tricky. You just have to try your best.”
Although your child might be a little apprehensive at the start, most children warm up quickly and end up enjoying their time and the one-on-one attention.
