I have experience working collaboratively within school settings and private practice, with a particular interest in psychological assessments. I have worked within several public school boards in Ontario, where I had the opportunity to work closely with families and staff to help meet students’ assessment needs and provided detailed intervention recommendations for instructional, environmental, and evaluation accommodations to help students utilize their strengths to meet their educational goals.

I completed my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a Thesis and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor in 2008 and 2011, respectively. My Master’s Thesis focused on examining the relationship between various childhood traumas and their impact on adult body image. During my graduate studies, I completed practicums in diverse settings, including the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association, Maryvale Family and Adolescent Centre, and the Children’s Centre of Wayne County. After I obtained my Master’s degree, a large focus of my practice has been on psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments (learning difficulties, giftedness, ADHD, developmental disorders, psychiatric diagnoses, and personality disorders).

I am registered as a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and my declared areas of practice include Clinical Psychology and School Psychology with children, adolescents, and adults. I am a member of the Ottawa Academy of Psychology and the Canadian Psychological Association.

I am a registered Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) at the University of California, Riverside in 2008, and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor in 2011. During my graduate studies, I gained experience in a wide range of clinical settings in both intervention and assessment, including university counselling centers, psychiatric hospital, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), and private practice. During my graduate studies, I developed an integrative focus bringing together Cognitive-Behavioural, Emotion-Focused, Dialectical-Behavioural, and Mindfulness-Based approaches to therapy. As well, my graduate research focused on semantic activation patterns among individuals predisposed to developing schizophrenia. Since 2016, I have been providing evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions (EFTT, Body-Based, Attachment-Focused) to individuals with a wide range of presenting problems, including complex developmental trauma, mood disorders, emotion regulation problems, compulsive and impulsive behaviours, personality disorders, and anxiety disorders.

As a therapist, I am non-judgemental, strength-based, and prioritize a warm, authentic, and collaborative relationship with my client. Our work together will start by us getting to know each other as I collect information about your history, presenting concerns, and goals before providing a unique treatment plan to you by our second or third session. The treatment plan will change as you progress through therapy to meet your evolving needs. My approach is experiential, exploratory, and insight-focused, and I will spend much of our sessions helping us both come to understand your internal experience in a way that makes sense to you, and in a way that is healing to you. I also work on facilitating your development of skills and solutions to manage symptoms and help you achieve a life worth living in accordance with your values. I look forward to the opportunity to be able to help you.

PSYCHOMETRIST

I have worked in the field of mental health in various settings. I have experience in psychological assessments, crisis intervention and case management. I have worked in community settings as well as private practice with children, adolescents and adults.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology (with Honours) at Carleton University in 2015 and my graduate degree in Psychology at The New School for Social Research in New York City in 2018. During my studies, I worked on several research projects examining how societal factors influence mental health resilience in ethnic minorities.

I am particularly interested in how psychometric measures can be used to capture a client's clinical profile. I strive to work with clients in a way that accurately reflects their abilities. I believe this to be essential in helping clients get the support they need.
